The Accredited CID Representative® designation (ACIDR) is one of a family of national designations granted by the Council of CID Specialists® to REALTORS® for their professional use in their marketing, promotion, acquisition, divestment, and listing and selling activities of common interest developments.
"Accredited" and "Certified" have the same definition and are synonyms. "CID" is the abbreviation for "Common Interest Development" which is a national term which includes all HOA-related properties such as Condos, Planned Developments, Co-ops and Community Apartment Buildings.
To qualify for and maintain the Accredited CID Representative® designation, the real estate agent/broker must meet and maintain the following requirements: (1) Real Estate License,
(2) Education, and (3) Good Standing as a member in the Council of CID Specialists® as follows:
- License: Hold a current, valid real estate license in good standing in one or more U.S. states.
- Education: You must have successfully completed the qualifying course - an intensive eight (8) hour course of study provided by the Council of Condominium Specialists® and the Council of CID Specialists® - giving you in-depth knowledge of all the legal and other aspects of CID/CIC ownership a real estate agent or broker must know, as well as practical and effective tips and applications on marketing and selling condos and other forms of CIDs and CICs, and properly handling escrows in relation to CIDs/CICs.
- Membership: The Accredited CID Representative® designee must maintain membership in good standing with the Council of Condominium Specialists®/Council of CID Specialists®. (No charge for membership.)
